Answers for planning and printing.
The help centre covers the full guide workflow — starting a trip, editing stops, previewing the layout, exporting to PDF, and printing cleanly.
Getting started
Visit /start to choose a template or start from scratch. Pick a starting location, add your first stop, and the builder opens. You can rename the trip and change the template style from the builder's settings panel at any time.
Templates set the visual layout, cover page style, and default stop card format for your exported PDF. Browse templates at /templates. The template does not affect your itinerary data — switching templates only changes the PDF output design.
Yes. All trips auto-save as you edit in the builder. Open the dashboard at /dashboard to see your saved trips. Free accounts can draft unlimited trips; paid plans unlock higher export limits. All templates are available on every plan.
The builder is designed for desktop. The preview, sharing page, and public site are mobile-friendly. We recommend planning and editing trips on a laptop or desktop for the best experience.
Builder & stops
Click '+ Add stop' in the Stops Rail (left panel). Type a place name or address and select from the autocomplete results. The locator map and route stats update automatically as you add stops.
A field note is a short description for each stop that appears in the exported PDF. Keep them concise — two to three sentences describing what makes the stop worth visiting. They appear on the stop card beneath the place name.
Yes. Open the Share menu in the builder, enter a collaborator's email, and they receive an invite link. Collaborators can edit stops and itinerary content. Edits are merged on save.
Drag and drop stops in the Stops Rail to reorder them. Within a day, drag events to change order. The route stats (drive time, distance) update to reflect the new sequence.
Event icons can be changed in the itinerary editor by clicking the icon next to any event. Custom photo uploads are not yet supported but are on the roadmap for a future release.
Preview & maps
The live preview renders the PDF layout at reduced resolution for speed. The final exported PDF renders at full print resolution. Small differences in font rendering or spacing are expected and will look correct in the final output.
Locator maps are generated from your stop coordinates. Each stop gets a map pin, and routes between stops are shown as dashed lines with distance pills. Maps render during export — the preview shows a placeholder outline.
Passport stamps are circular decorative elements that appear on stop cover pages in the exported PDF. They show the stop name in a curved text arc around the stamp ring — a nod to the national park passport stamp tradition.
Coordinates come from the place search autocomplete. If a stop placed incorrectly, remove it and re-add using a more specific search term (e.g. include the city name). You can also manually adjust coordinates in the stop settings panel.
Exporting & printing
From the builder, click the Export button in the top bar. The export is queued and typically completes within two minutes. You'll receive an email when it's ready, or you can watch the status badge in the builder.
Check that all stop names resolve to real places and that no required fields are empty. If the export fails a second time, use the Contact page and include your export ID (starts with exp_) and trip template name. Our team can inspect the job directly.
Free plans include one branded PDF export per month. Explorer plans include 10 exports per month. Pro and higher plans include unlimited exports. Check your current usage in Settings → Billing.
AdventurePDF guides are designed for US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) or A4. For a booklet-style field guide, use duplex printing with short-edge binding. See the Print Tips page for detailed margin and folding guidance.
Yes. Share the trip link at /share/[tripId] so anyone can view the itinerary without an account. For the PDF file itself, download it from your dashboard and share it however you like — there are no redistribution restrictions.
Click Export again in the builder. Each export creates a new job and produces a fresh PDF reflecting the current state of your trip. Previous export files remain downloadable from your dashboard.
Account & billing
Visit /pricing and click the plan you want. You'll be redirected to Stripe Checkout. After payment, your entitlements update immediately — no waiting period.
Yes. Go to Settings → Billing → Manage subscription. You'll be redirected to the Stripe Customer Portal where you can cancel. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.
Wait a few minutes for the payment webhook to process. If your plan still shows as Free after 10 minutes, contact support with your email address and the approximate time of purchase. We can verify the Stripe event and correct your entitlement.
Go to Settings → Account. Email and password changes take effect immediately. If you signed up with Google, password management is handled through your Google account.
The Business plan supports unlimited trips, high page-count exports, and collaboration across multiple contributors. If you need custom limits or a reseller arrangement, use the Contact page and select Partnership.
Use the contact form for support, bug reports, or anything not covered above. Include your trip template and browser version if relevant.
